James has over 25 years of extensive experience in web and interactive design and development, internet marketing, and social media. Throughout his career, he has worked as a freelancer, consultant, instructor, and subcontractor for small agencies, serving a diverse range of clients across small businesses, government, institutional, and not-for-profit sectors. During the dot-com boom, James spearheaded courses in Internet Marketing and E-Commerce, showcasing his forward-thinking approach to digital trends. Since 2015, he has been an instructor, lab supervisor, and blog/social media coordinator at Capilano University’s IDEA School of Design. He has also shared his expertise as an instructor at Langara College, CodeCore College, and the Vancouver School Board Continuing Education. Specializing in HTML and CSS for designers, James combines practical industry knowledge with a passion for teaching and mentoring. While he fully embraces modern, clean web design techniques, James still holds a nostalgic love for creative GIFs and the charm of old-school internet aesthetics.
